Smriti Mandhana Breaks Records with Blazing Century Against Australia
  • Smriti Mandhana scores a 77 ball century, her 12th in ODIs.
  • Becomes first player to score 3+ WODI centuries in two different calendar years.
  • Closes in on Meg Lanning’s all-time record of most hundreds in women’s ODIs.

Indian opener Smriti Mandhana etched her name in the history books once again, delivering a sensational century against Australia in the second women’s ODI at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

Mandhana reached her hundred in just 77 balls, blasting 14 fours and 4 sixes, showcasing her trademark elegance and aggression at the top. This century marks her 12th in ODIs, all of which have come as an opener, placing her alongside legends Suzie Bates and Tammy Beaumont in the elite club for most WODI centuries by openers.

What makes this milestone even more special is that Mandhana became the first cricketer in the world, male or female to score three or more ODI centuries in two different calendar years. She had previously smashed four hundreds in 2024 and now has three in 2025.

With this knock, the 27 year old moves closer to Meg Lanning’s all time record of 15 WODI centuries. Mandhana now has 12 ODI hundreds, 2 Test centuries, and 1 T20I hundred, making her the second highest century scorer in women’s international cricket, just behind Lanning.

This was also Mandhana’s third ODI century against Australia, tying her with Suzie Bates. Only Nat Sciver-Brunt, with four tons, has more centuries against the Aussies.

Mandhana’s performance not only lit up the stadium but also reaffirmed her position as one of the most dominant forces in women’s cricket today.
