India has secured the prestigious bid to host the 2029 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG), one of the world’s largest multi-sport events for police officers, firefighters, and first responders. The announcement was made following a successful presentation by Indian representatives to the WPFG Federation in Birmingham, USA.
The 2029 edition will be hosted across three major locations in Gujarat Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Ekta Nagar. The decision marks a major milestone in India’s growing reputation as a global sporting hub and reflects the country’s readiness to organize mega international events.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel called it a proud moment for the state and emphasized Gujarat’s growing global stature in sports. He credited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the achievement.
The bid, backed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, highlighted India’s advanced sports infrastructure, logistical capabilities, and adherence to international standards. It also aligned with Gujarat’s ambition to emerge as a prime destination for world-class sporting events.
With over 70 nations participating, the 2029 WPFG will not only showcase India’s organizational excellence but also foster global camaraderie among uniformed services.
