Groups for ODI Asia Cup 2023 announced; India to face Pakistan

India and Pakistan, once again will have a fiery face-off on the cricket ground this year as the Asia Cup 2023 is slated to begin in September this year. Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah released the cricket calendar for 2023 and 2024, including the Asia Cup. He has also announced which teams would be in the two groups of Asia Cup 2023. The group stage itself will see several high profile matches between India and Pakistan as both are in the same group.

India and Pakistan are strong teams in the Asia Cup tournament, it is possible that both will cross the group stage and reach the top 4. If this happens, then once again both the teams will come face to face for more than once in the upcoming edition of Asia Cup.

In the last Asia Cup edition too, India and Pakistan had faced each other twice, in the first match India had defeated Pakistan but during the second battle, Babar Azam and his team had avenged their defeat and didn’t leave that pending. However, India was out of Asia Cup 2022 after qualifying for super 4 with Virat Kohli most awaited 71st century against Afghanistan.

But Pakistan has played the Asia Cup final. But couldn’t win the title and Sri Lanka lifted the trophy for the seventh time. However, this time both the teams have an opportunity to change that and fight till the end. As everyone years for a India vs Pakistan final.
