Global betting company 1xBet, in partnership with the Wheelchair Cricket India Association (W.C.I.A.), has donated 20 modern sports wheelchairs to para-athletes competing in wheelchair cricket, reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity in sports.
These specially designed wheelchairs will provide disabled cricketers with the advanced mobility equipment necessary to boost their performance. Until now, most players participated in 6-8 tournaments annually without access to professional-grade sports wheelchairs due to high costs.
1xBet selected W.C.I.A. for this initiative because of the association’s dedication to promoting inclusive sports and creating platforms for wheelchair-bound athletes. As India’s pioneering and apex body for wheelchair cricket, W.C.I.A. is credited with forming the first Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team and has played a critical role in enabling para-athletes to represent India in international tournaments.
“This support from 1xBet is more than just about providing equipment; it’s about recognising the perseverance and spirit of para-athletes who challenge limits every day,” said a W.C.I.A. representative.
