The Master Story behind Tesla's Model 3 Launch

The revenue from those models funded the development of the Model 3. Musk thanked Tesla customers for supporting to bring Model 3 to the masses. Owners of previous Tesla models are hence given more preference while delivering model 3 which Musk says would begin by the end of 2017.

The Model 3, as Musk claims has 5 star rating in ALL categories and even its base model would go 0 – 60 MPH in less than 6 seconds. “At Tesla we done make slow cars” he joked. The minimum range of the car would be 215 mile for each charging and all versions of Model 3 would come with the Tesla’s flagship auto pilot hardware. The model would fit five adults comfortably given there’s plenty of room from not housing combustion engines and fire wall. The car’s roof area is one continuous pain of glass which would give an amazing head view and a feeling of openness. “It has more capacity than any gasoline car of the same external dimension. You can fit a 7 foot long surf board on the inside.” Musk prides.

All Model 3s would come with supercharging standard. Tesla, in parallel to developing its models have so far planted more than 3600 superchargers and destination chargers each worldwide. “By the end of next year, we will double the number of super chargers and quadruple the number of destination chargers. Because the onboard charger is able to adapt any country’s voltage and amperage, where ever you go in the world, if there is electricity you can charge.” he points. Tesla also expects to hike up the number of stores and service centers across Asia, North America and Europe to more than 441 from the current 215 by the end of next year.
