Some Lesser Known Trekking Destinations in South India

3.    Kolli hills

A part of the Western Ghats, this trek starts at 600 feet and goes to the top at 3,000 feet. This trek comprises of initial trekking along a river for about one hour, crossing it several times. After one leaves the river behind, the ascend becomes gradual. Finally a temple at the top marks the end of the trek. But the real attraction lies beyond; 1,070 steep steps lead you to a 300 feet waterfall known as “Akasa Gangai”. A swim in the pool below the fall is enough to wash away all the tiredness. If someone desires for more he/she can wade through the water and stand right below the fall with water thrashing the skin.
