#4 Hyundai Santro:

At number 4 is South Korean multinational automaker- Hyundai’s first entry, Santro. Hyundai entered the Indian market in 1997, with the Atos, marketed under the name Santro. Since then the Indian version has undergone a number of upgrades in styling and technology to respond to consumer preferences. But for Indian crooks, whatever be the styling, the Hyundai Santro seems quite popular in Mumbai as 106 Santros were stolen in 2011.

#3 Mahindra Bolero:

It’s clear that Indian car thieves like MUVs as they can carry around 6 to 10 persons in it. And this might be the sole reason for the fact top 3 most stolen vehicles across India are MUVs. At number 3 its Mahindra’s first entry, the Bolero. Mahindra vehicles seem to be quite in demand by carjackers as around 106 Mahindra Boleros were stolen during 2011, up by 34 percent from the 79 Boleros in 2010.
