India's 10 Most Stolen Cars

#2 Chevrolet Tavera:

American motor manufacturers, Chevrolet has been marketing on the Indian roads for years. In recent time, Chevrolet has turned out to be one of the most successful motor brands in India. And because of that, it seems they are also favorites among Indian carjackers. Chevrolet’s first Indian SUV Tavera speeds itself into the second spot, as about 106 cars were stolen in 2011, compared to 67 in 2010; reports Mumbai police.

#1 Mahindra Scorpio:

And the most stolen car in India is Mahindra’s MUV, the Scorpio. A second entrant from the Indian manufacturers to be listed, the Scorpio seems to be thieves’ favorite. The Mumbai police announced that out of 1540 four wheelers stolen, 133 were Scorpios. This is a decline of about 10 per cent from 148 Scorpios stolen in 2010. The Scorpio is also the first SUV from Mahindra built for the global market. The Scorpio has been successfully accepted in international markets across the globe, and will shortly be launched in the United States.
