Rameshwaram: The Sacred City
Rameshwaram is located on Pamban Island which is 50 kilometers away from Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. This city is a part of Char Dham pilgrimage for Hindus and one of the holiest places in India. According to Hindu Mythology, Lord Rama built the bridge from here to reach Lanka. There are many temples in the city, but some of them have its own significance. The Ramanathaswamy Temple of Lord Shiva is most sacred one as it is related to the Ramayana. Ramateertham, a renowned pilgrimage, and an Ancient Historical site where it is good to spend some alone time.
