Abarth Punto EVO vs VW Polo GT TSI

Engine Specifications

The Punto Abarth will be powered by a 1.4-litre T-JET turbocharged petrol engine that can churn out a massive 145bhp at 6,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. Although for the power output it delivers we thought it would sport a different gearbox like the one on the GTs, but sadly Fiat has stuck to a 5-speed gearbox which will see the car clock 0-100kmph in eight seconds. On the other hand, the VW GT TSI is a well refined car which is fast and can do 0-100 under 10 seconds. The car is powered to a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged, direct-injection motor which churns out 105 bhp and powers out 175Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed DSG auto-box along with cruise control which is first on a hatchback.

Although we are yet to see how the Abarth performs the GT TSI looks a clear winner at the moment for its precise engine setup, handling, performance and also not to forget its fuel efficient. The only drawback could be the high cost of ownership.
