Car Of The Week: New Land Rover Freelander 2


Bangalore: Tata Motors-owned Land Rover has launched its latest 2013 version of locally-built Freelander 2 in India. Starting from a price tag of Rs 38.67 lakh for the base varient, the SUV comes with minor updates in and out. According to Land Rover India Vice President Rohit Suri, "The Freelander 2 has proved to be extremely popular with Indian customers and this new model brings a more premium look and feel to the overall driving experience."

Engine:

Freelander 2 is available in two variants. While the 2.2 litre in-line 4cylinder diesel engine TD4 SE packs 150 PS of power, the other version, a 2.2 litre diesel SD4 HSE comes with 190 PS.

The 6 speed automatic transmission works with command shift technology. It also has cruise control, which is a boon in long drives. The excellent 4WD system which made the Land Rovers famous is the trademark of this SUV. Depending on the traction available, this system delivers the power to the front and rear wheels.
