Car Of The Week: New Land Rover Freelander 2

Exterior:

Freelander 2 will have new exterior design features and upgraded equipment levels. The sturdy looking SUV has got all new LED daytime running lights and a beautiful chrome finish around the fog lamps.

Other cosmetic changes includes the typical Land Rover- themed taillights, which are twin-circular and three new exciting colors, for the color conscious. The top variant also gets 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior:

The new revised interior gets much better than the previous version. It hosts new features including a centre console, 7-inch colour touch-screen with enhanced audio systems and a fully integrated navigation system.

The key dock has been replaced by passive start and the new model will also have an 'intelligent' electric parking brake, which adjusts brake force according to the slope the vehicle is parked on.

Adding to it, the rear view camera capability is also new to the Freelander 2 and is available as standard.

The only problem with the 5 seater SUV is the low amount of space it has, which is similar to some of the sedans available in the market.

Pricing:

Pricing is the portion where Freelander 2 has to think again. Even though it carries a Land Rover badge, few think its price is too high for a 5 seater compact SUV.

The 150 PS version is available starting from 38.67 lakh and 190 PS from Rs 43.92 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.
