Ignition switches created by General Motors had faults which took a toll of around 169 lives. The flaw in the switch was that it turned out of the run position which led to switching off the engine while driving. One of the leading automaker settled the investigation of the flawed ignition switch scandal recently by paying $900 million.  The company also accepted that the flaw was identified by some employees yet the switch wasn’t recalled until last year.
