World's Most Congested Cities: New Delhi Comes 10th


Paris: Mostly known for its fantastic museums and of course the Eiffel Tower, Paris has become a pioneer in the smart cities arena.

This city has led the world in their expensive and widely used bike sharing network, ‘Velib'.

Currently, the system has more than 20,000 bikes and 1,800 bikes throughout the city. Evidence suggests that Velib has led to a 5 percent reduction in vehicle congestion in the city.

Paris has also managed to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. All this attributed to list this city among the congested cities in the world.

Mexico City: An important financial hub for North America located in the Valley of Mexico, Mexico City is the largest valley in the high plateaus at the center of Mexico, at an altitude of 2,240 metres (7,350 ft).

The city was built by the Aztec’s and was nearly destroyed in the siege of Tenochtitlan in 1521. After being rebuilt, the city officially was known as Ciudad de Mexico.

As a city, Mexico ranks on the 4th place in terms of population, with almost 8.6 million inhabitants. In fact, it is also ranks as the largest city in North America.

Mexico City has a GDP of about $390 billion that makes up the one quarter of nation’s GDP. It is now the 8th richest metropolitan city on the globe and is one of the most congested cities in the world with a population of 19,463,000.
