World's 10 Tourist-Friendly Nations



Bangalore: “To travel is to live,” said Hans Christian Andersen. This is true indeed and there millions around the world who love to travel. While travelling the world gives one the exposure to different people and cultures, there are countries that are friendly and a few that are not-so-friendly. Here are the top 10 tourist-friendly nations as per the World Economic Forum's Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2013.

Iceland:
The Nordic European island country, Iceland, is ranked the most tourist-friendly nation in the world. Not just its picturesque beauty but also the hospitable people places Iceland on top of the list. As per the survey Icelandic society is most open and welcoming to foreigners. Further, tourism in Iceland has become a more important part of the national economy. 500,000 tourists visited Iceland in the year 2010.

New Zealand:
Second nation that is extremely tourist friendly is New Zealand. The Kiwis are friendly too and this is proved time and again. In 2012 the readers of the UK paper - The Telegraph voted New Zealand as the best country in the world to go to on holiday. The highest number of New Zealand's tourists are said to come from Australia due to close proximity and relations. This beautiful nation of mild maritime climate and land mostly covered in forest ranks well on the hospitality poll.
