Women's Ratio in MBA Still Stands Low

Bangalore: The percentage of women candidates in MBA Institutes in India has grown at a set rate over the years; yet it’s not enough to call for celebrations. This rise does not account to a remarkable number when compared to the number of male counterparts. The situation is not only a matter of distress in India it is quiet bleak worldwide when compared with all the regions covered. The overall number of women applicants around the world has not shown any sound inclination either. As pointed out by the QS Top MBA Applicant Survey 2012 the amount of female applicants has increased from 33 percent to 39 percent from 2005 to 2012, which is only a moderate increase in Asia Pacific region. Out of the six regions covered which are U.S. and Canada, Latin America, Western Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and Middle East for gender ratio estimate, admiringly only Eastern Europe dominated the charts with 53.4 percent beside the male percentage of 46.6 percent. The U.S. and Canada is next on the poll with women representing 47 percent.

InThe Middle East showed the lowest with 29.9 percent; just above it is Western Europe with 33.6 percent. Asia Pacific section, which includes India and China, who are among the countries which sent the maximum number of applicants for the MBA program is at 36.9 percent, while Latin America was at 42 percent.
