Untold Similarities between Indian Leaders

Lal Bahadur Shastri and Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Both the ex-prime ministers, who were great public orators, hold the distinction of winning the wars against Pakistan that were fought during their respective times, the Indo-Pak war and the Kargil war to be precise. They both believed in the ideology of empowering the farmer and the soldier. With the famous slogan of the former being “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” while that of the latter is “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan and Jai Vigyan,” with Vajpayee also advocating education and how it was the path to tread for the development of the Nation.

Manmohan Singh and Jawaharlal Nehru

The First Prime Minister of India and the Patriarch of the Gandhi family had a few similarities with our last, silent Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. Both made it their agenda to exploit nuclear energy. With Nehru first introducing the idea, Manmohan Singh took it further by signing nuclear agreements with the United States of America, which saw us supplying them with raw materials and in return making a powerful ally. Both worked ceaselessly to strengthen the country’s economy.
