Union Minister Launches 'NITI For States' Digital Governance Platform
Union IT and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is set to launch NITI Aayog's groundbreaking 'NITI For States' platform in the capital, a pivotal move aimed at fortifying the digital transformation of governance. Functioning as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for policy and good governance, the platform will empower government officials with pertinent, actionable knowledge to enhance decision-making.
The inauguration will also feature the unveiling of the 'Viksit Bharat Strategy Room' at NITI Aayog, designed to facilitate immersive visualization and engagement with insights, information, and knowledge, fostering effective in-person decision-making.
The 'NITI For States' platform boasts a comprehensive array of features, including a multi-sectoral live repository housing 7,500 best practices, 5,000 policy documents, over 900 datasets, 1,400 data profiles, and 350 NITI publications. Encompassing 10 key sectors such as agriculture, education, energy, health, manufacturing, and more, the platform spans two cross-cutting themes – gender and climate change.
NITI Aayog emphasizes that the platform will specifically aid district collectors and block-level functionaries, providing them access to innovative best practices from various States and Union Territories. By equipping government officials with contextually relevant information, 'NITI For States' aims to significantly elevate the quality of decision-making in governance. This move marks a crucial step towards harnessing digital tools for efficient and informed governance strategies across India.
