UK To Collaborate With India in Healthcare Sector



Bangalore: India has been working in the healthcare sector to bring it to the mark set by the world’s best countries. Even though the progress is slow the efforts are made at a constant pace. Now U.K. has developed a keen interest to collaborate with India in primary and community healthcare sector and even India can benefit from this venture. In the 12th five year plan, which emphasizes on universal healthcare there is a lot stored for the country.

Anna Soubry, MP and British health minister, recently visited Bangalore, as a part of her India visit, to explore opportunities for increased collaboration on primary healthcare and has seen a large scope of opportunity in India,  reported ND Shiva Kumar for TNN.

In the city, she visited Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital associated with Biocon and also had a meeting with Karnataka health minister Aravinda Limbavali. She informed about the wide opportunities of healthcare in the state.

She told reporters, “UK is committed to a deeper, wide ranging partnership with India. UK has a deep expertise in health. I am here to ensure the partnership,” as reported by TNN.

Talking about the universal healthcare in the 12th five-year plan, she said, “It's an admirable aim. The numbers offered healthcare is staggering. Deliver of primary healthcare is a big task."
