King of good times facing bad times

Glare is soon to be put back on Vijay Mallya by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A number of unencumbered assets — unpledged stocks, properties etc. has been identified by the central agency. Reportedly the assets are worth more than 6,000 Cr INR, and the central agency has been awaiting a report by one of the various lenders with unpaid loans. This would mean that the ED too can now turn the heat on Mallya as the State Bank of India has moved to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

False chirps by social birdies

Dipa Karmakar reportedly tweeted to her Indian fans apologizing after losing out on a medal by a whisker. But now her team members and investors are taking fake Twitter accounts very seriously. “Two fake accounts on Twitter — to which the who's who of sports had replied — have been brought to authorities' notice and subsequently blocked. Also the fakers have been put on notice,” told Deepti Bopaiah, executive director of GoSports Foundation, sponsor of Dipa Karmakar.
