Power Shortage Level lowest ever: Power Shortage and its other Facets

In a session at parliament on Thursday Power minister Piyush Goyal, Modi army’s lieutenant informed the countrymen that power shortage in the last financial year was at 2.1 percent-the lowest level in a single year. In the last financial year, the energy shortage was 3.6 percent, and this is a substantial reduction in the power shortage levels across the country. At present, India is only importing power from Bhutan with assistance from the Government of India. The power minister also said that a target of 88,537 MW excluding 30,000 MW of Renewal Energy source, was fixed for capacity addition. Against this, cumulative capacity addition of 84,990.7 MW has been achieved as on March 31, 2016 reports PTI, TOI.
