Politics, Not Women's Cup of Tea?


They are just mere subjects for soft news like family, lifestyle and culture. Also, there are fewer women as politicians or as the ones on higher/senior public positions and this has made women follow news lesser than their male counterparts.

One among the five female researchers involved in the project Kaori Hayashi Professor of The University of Tokyo is of the opinion that “Such under-representation and topical bias of women in news media may curb women’s motivation to acquire political knowledge actively, and discourage them from political participation, and even prevent women from engaging as citizens in a democratic society,” reported The Independent.

The lives of women all over the world mostly revolve around their families and their children and this in a way hinders women to actively participate in the political issues or any other social activities as such they know lesser when it comes to politics and political matters.
