She is also the first female Prime Minister of Iceland, in office since February 2009. 

9 Sheik Hasina Wajed
Prime Minister of Bangladesh
Sheik Hasina Wajed has been the Prime Minister of Bangladesh since 2009 for the second time. She was first elected in 1996 and served the post till 2001. In 2004, she survived the Dhaka grenade attack that killed more than 20 people. The grenade attack was designed to assassinate Sheik and the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
