NLC India and NPTI Partner for Power Sector Training in Tamil Nadu

In an important development, NLC India Ltd, a prominent state-owned enterprise, has combined forces with the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) to provide training to project-affected individuals and unemployed youth in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district. The collaboration is geared towards addressing the knowledge and knowledge gap prevalent in the power sector.

NLC India's Chairman and Managing Director, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, highlighted the need for NPTI to play a essential role in increasing more human resources in the power sector. As part of the collaboration, Motupalli suggested the presence of a renewable energy module in the NPTI diploma course, aligning with the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The combined effort aims to offer job-oriented post-diploma and post-graduate diploma courses in power plant engineering, each spanning one year. The target demographic comprises 50 individuals, including Project Affected Persons (PAPs) from NLC India's operating areas in Neyveli and deserving unemployed youth from Cuddalore district.

The training program is envisioned to equip candidates with the necessary skills, opening up employment opportunities in premier companies within the power sector. NLC India, a Navratna company under the Ministry of Coal, primarily engages in mining and power generation, underlining its commitment to fostering skill development and employment in the region.
