Sheshadripuram:

Sheshadaripuram was also formed in the year 1892 along with Chamrajpet named after Dewan (Chief Minnister) Sheshadari Iyer, also known as the founder of the modern Bangalore. The adverse effect of urbanization has transformed Sheshadaripuram from being a residential neighborhood to commercial center. It also holds the pride of having prestigious educational institutions like Sheshadaripuram Degree College, Maharani Degree College and SJP Polytechnic.

Malleshwaram & Basavanagudi:

Sanitation became a major concern for British Raj toward Bangalore following the great plague of 1898; the epidemic took away many lives. To shift population from the center of the city two new extensions, Malleshwaram and Basavanagudi were formed, with proper planning of sanitation.

Malleshwaram got its name from the Kaadu Malleshwara Temple. Today it is the most preferred residential neighborhood in Bangalore. Sampige Road of Malleshwaram is one of the shopping highlights of the city and also attracts foodies from all around the city. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Chowdiah memorial hall stand as the land marks of the area.

Basavangudi refers to the Bull Temple here. Gandhi bazaar of the region is known for the street shopping, added with ‘Vidyarthi Bhavan’ one of the oldest restaurants of the city. This is also an educational hub with National College and BMS ‘Degree’ and ‘Engineering’ colleges within its boundary.
