Earlier cabinet had some ministers who were overboard with too many portfolios in the name of synergy. It is now clear that for a finer and effective decision-making, division of labor is required. Many apprehend that the “size” of the government has increased by adding 21 more ministers to the existing cabinet. Minimum government with maximum governance is our Prime Minister’s ultimate agenda. And if he is able to cut down his edifice of number of departments, bureaucrats, and staff engaged in these departments, he will probably keep his promise. Also it is necessary to note that the minimum government is not about size alone, but more about least interference and involvement of the government.
