Mercury Rises In North India





Cold conditions relented in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today, with minimum temperatures settling above normal limits in the region.

Several parts of the region had bright sunshine today even as few places, including Bhiwani and Hisar, had fog in the morning hours.

The mercury at Ludhiana settled at a low of 10.7 degrees Celsius, while Bhiwani had a low of 9.6 degrees Celsius.

Among other places, Ambala had a low of 9.5 degrees Celsius, followed by 9.2 each at Chandigarh and Patiala, 8.7 at Hisar, 7.8 at Narnaul, and 6.3 degrees Celsius at Amritsar.

Most places of Rajasthan recorded rising temperatures as Mount Abu registered the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 6.2 degrees Celsius last night, a MeT report said.

The minimum temperature ranged between 10.3 and 15.5 degrees Celsius in other parts of the state even as Bikaner and Kota recorded light rains.
