India's Shame: Potholes Named After Inefficient Politicos
Bangalore: There are no cities left in this country where a person gets to travel on a pothole free road. Masses are puzzled as to whom the blame should go- whether to the ongoing monsoon or the inefficient leaders who do not pay any heed towards such problems. So, locals in Raipur have come up with an innovative and unique approach to draw attention on the growing number of potholes on its roads by naming each pothole after the concern politicos and officials, reports Jason Burke for The Guardian.
So far, in the presence of priests and proper rituals, some of the biggest potholes in the capital city of Chhattisgarh are christened after the name of its Chief Minister Raman Singh, Minister of Public Works Department, Brijmohan Agrawal and Minister of Housing and Environment, Rajesh Munat. 'Brijmohan gaddha (pothole),' 'Munat gaddha' and 'Raman gaddha' are some of the names people already have in store for the potholes.
