In a landmark initiative to establish India as a global hub for traditional medicine and wellness, the Government of India officially launched the Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal on 29th May 2025. The launch event took place at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, during the Ayush Stakeholder/Industry Interaction Meet. The portal was jointly unveiled by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, and Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush.
The event witnessed the presence of senior government officials, industry leaders, and global stakeholders, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, and Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The launch marks a significant step in India’s efforts to convert its rich heritage of wellness systems into a dynamic economic engine driven by data transparency and investor-friendly access.
The Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal is a dedicated, investor-centric digital platform created through a collaboration between the Ministry of Ayush and Invest India. It integrates policy frameworks, investment incentives, curated projects, and real-time facilitation into a single, streamlined interface. The portal aims to serve both domestic and international investors by providing a strategic gateway to India’s burgeoning Ayush sector, which has emerged as one of the fastest-growing industries in the country, boasting an annual growth rate of 17% from 2014 to 2020.
Speaking at the launch, Shri Piyush Goyal emphasized the sector’s potential, saying, “With 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) allowed in the Ayush sector via the automatic route, the launch of Ayush Nivesh Saarthi sends a clear message to the world that India welcomes investment, collaboration, and innovation in holistic healthcare. Our Ayush ecosystem is deeply rooted in tradition yet propelled by a modern vision. This portal connects investors not only to opportunities but also to India’s ancient wellness legacy”.
Shri Prataprao Jadhav added, “Ayush Nivesh Saarthi is more than a digital platform it is a transformation enabler. It combines the government’s proactive policies, India’s abundant natural resources, including over 8,000 medicinal plant species, and a globally trusted wellness tradition. Investors will benefit from transparent policy guidance, real-time data, and access to a rapidly growing market. Ayush is no longer just India’s heritage—it is a global opportunity”.
The sector’s importance extends beyond healthcare, significantly contributing to India’s medical value travel (MVT) and global wellness economy. Ayush ranks among the top five health services in India and is a key pillar in the country’s USD 13 billion MVT sector worldwide.
With this new platform, the Government of India aims to strengthen Ayush as a cornerstone of public health and economic growth. The Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal is expected to accelerate foreign direct investment inflows, empower entrepreneurs, and highlight India’s leadership in traditional medicine and wellness on the global stage.
