FDI in Multibrand retail was a card played by NDA during the days of campaigning and it rightly attracted the trade bodies across the country. However, the party after taking over, moved away from this promise which angered the trade bodies and their own allies as well. BJP’s own allies criticized the government and asked them to scrap the entire policy.

Provident Fund

There is actually a dilemma going on with the issue of provident fund; though the tax levied on it has been slashed from 30 percent to 10 percent it could not provide any clarity on how it would do it. And the government connected the black money issue with PF but since there was no paper provided on this relation cannot be proven.
