Mordechai Vanunu:
Mordechai Vanunu is a former Israeli nuclear technician who, citing his opposition to weapons of mass destruction, revealed details of Israel's nuclear weapons program to the British press and exposed Israel’s nuclear program. He was trapped by the most elementary of methods. He was transported to Israel and eventually convicted in a trial that was held behind closed doors. The trial was a secret affair and, not surprisingly, landed him in prison for eighteen years, eleven of which were spent in solitary confinement. His release has not brought about much relief, and a broad range of restrictions is imposed on his speech and movement.
