Eight Popular Indian Cities Christened with their New Names
Mangalore to Mangaluru
In the list of renamed cities another one is Mangalore, which now has been renamed to Mangaluru. In November, 2014 the name changing had been done as a part of the proposal made by Dharma Sing, CM of Karnataka in 2006. The proposal suggested 12 cities’ all over Karnataka to be renamed. Latter the city gained the name from the Hindu deity, Mangaladevi.
