Eight Popular Indian Cities Christened with their New Names
Mysore to Mysuru
Based on the same proposal as made by the then CM Dharma Sing, Mysore was also enlisted on that petition. The name has been obtained from Goddess Durga, who is also referred as Mahishasura Mardhini meaning the savior of the region from the Buffalo Demon, Mahishasura.
