This is exactly what the Budget 2016 has proposed as a tax at source at the rate of 1% on purchase of goods and services in cash exceeding 2 lakhs will now be applicable. Also, the excise duty on branded readymade garments and other items made of textiles with a retail sale price of Rs 1,000 has been increased.
