Bridgestone Names Hiroshi Yoshizane as New MD of India Operations
Bridgestone, the Japanese tire manufacturer, has appointed Hiroshi Yoshizane as the new Managing Director for its operations in India. Yoshizane will take over from Stefano Sanchini, who is set to transition into the role of VP of Consumer Replacement for Europe, according to Bridgestone India. This change marks the third Managing Director for Bridgestone's India operations in just over a year, as Sanchini had assumed the position in January of the previous year, succeeding Parag Satpute.
Hiroshi Yoshizane, previously with Bridgestone Japan, where he served as the executive vice president of solution business, retail, and service business in Bridgestone Tire Solution Japan Co Ltd, expressed his views on the significance of the Indian market for Bridgestone. He emphasized India's strategic importance as a growing market with unique opportunities and challenges, particularly with the automotive sector advancing in terms of both numbers and technology.
This development aligns with Bridgestone Corporation's recent global reorganization of Bridgestone East and West. As part of this restructuring, India will now fall under the umbrella of BSAPIC (Bridgestone Asia Pacific India China) as a single Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This decision is based on the recognition that these geographies share similar consumer sentiments, allowing Bridgestone to leverage synergies and enhance its focus on developing these markets further.
