Harit Sajjan as defence minister of Canada
PM Justin Trudeau's new cabinet has upto four Indian origin ministers and Harit Sajjan is one of them. He is the defence minister for Canada. After 11years of service as police to the Vancouver Police Department, he also served as Lieutenant-Colonel in the Canadian Armed Force. Sajjan has received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Order of Military Merit and much such recognition.
IAF women pilots can fly fighters
The government gave a green signal for lady pilots to fly fighter planes. The Ministry of Defence announced that trainings for this new service will start from the present batch. The first woman fighter pilot will be in the cockpit in 2017.
