Air India Partners with SIA Engineering for Airbus A320 Fleet Support
Tata-owned Air India has entered into a 12-year agreement with SIA Engineering Company Ltd. for an Inventory Technical Management program. This program will provide component support coverage for Air India's current fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft. In addition to access to SIAEC's inventory pool, the agreement includes repair and overhaul services for airframe and on-wing engine components. The collaboration is expected to strengthen Air India's repairs and maintenance capabilities for the Airbus A320 family, contributing to improved reliability and availability of aircraft components.
Campbell Wilson, the CEO & Managing Director of Air India, expressed delight in having SIAEC as a partner, emphasizing that the collaboration will enhance their competence in repairs and maintenance for the Airbus A320 family, ultimately improving the reliability and availability of components for their aircraft operations.
SIAEC CEO Chin Yau Seng stated that their proven model will provide crucial maintenance support for Air India Group's growth and expansion plans. With a network of joint venture companies and component shops across the Asia Pacific region, SIAEC is confident in delivering high-quality and reliable services to the Air India Group.
Air India currently operates a fleet of A320 family aircraft and has placed orders for an additional 210 A320 family aircraft as part of a historic order for 470 aircraft made in 2023.
