Zoomtra Lists 5 Unique Temple That Your Must Visit


BANGALORE: Spirituality and religion are the strong roots of our country, and some of the temples are famous around the world for their belief and sacredness. People in India are God fearing and thus these temples are the places for them to fulfill their wishes and get rid of the sins. However, some temples around the country are beyond the usual and have some very strange beliefs. Here either the regular gods aren’t visited or there are some which have some miracles inside them. Zoomtra takes you through five such temples around the country.

Temple of Rats, Karni Mata Temple, Rajasthan

Located around 30 kms away from the city of Bikaner, lies the Karni Mata Temple famously known as The Temple of Rats. There are around 20, 000 rats which reside in this temple and eat the Prasad. People travel here from around the country to pay their respects to these rats and these are considered holy and named as Kabbas. Most of the rats in the temple are black in color but there are very few white rats around which are considered more sacred and believed to be the manifestations of the God.

Lepakshi Temples’ Hanging Pillar

Located in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, Lepakshi Temple is home to a number of wonders from the mural paintings to the hanging pillar. There is one pillar at the temple which doesn’t rests fully on the ground. There are a total of 70 pillars in the temple which are at their place from the 16th century and have been built in the Vijaynagar style but this one pillar is different from them all. It is also believed that during the British era a British engineer tried to move this pillar but was unsuccessful in his attempt.
