7. “Satyameva Jayathe” (Truth Alone Triumphs):    

Madan Mohan Malaviya, a famous educationalist and freedom fighter, is remembered for popularizing the slogan “Satyameva Jayathe”, which was taken from an ancient Indian scripture ‘Mundaka Upanishad’. The slogan became so popular and was received with such enthusiasm that it was adopted as the National Motto of India. This slogan is inscribed in the Devanagari script at the base of the Indian National Emblem and is also inscribed on one side of the Indian currency.

 8. “Simon Go Back”:

This slogan was against the Simon Commission which came to India to study the constitutional reforms in the country in 1927. Lala Lajpat Raj created the slogan “Simon Go Back” and led a peaceful procession against the Simon Commission. Police batons were used to stop the procession and Lala Rajpat Rai was severely hit on the chest. Lala Rajpat Rai died soon after the incident and his death anniversary is observed as The Martyrs’ Day in India.
