Maana Patel, The Girl With A Swing!




BENGALURU:  Being this really thin and a girl with a poor Appetite, Maana Patel has certainly dumbstruck each one of us. In the intention of stabilizing her appetite, her mother enrolled her into swimming. Swimming has not only improvised her appetite, but also bought her the fame of being the one among the best swimmers in the country, reports Adit Ganguly/ DNA.  

Maana’s tryst with swimming began when she was seven, after she made her mark in club-level competitions and by the time she was eight, she was ready to take on the seniors. She is currently trained under the profound coach of Gujarat, Kamlesh Nanavati.

Here is the list of achievements under her name

---- First swimmer to be signed in by Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ).
---- Patel made a mark after breaking three national records at the 40th Junior National Aquatics Championship in Hyderabad.
---- Broke Shikha Tandon's national record of 2:26.41s at the Asian Age Group Championship, Tokyo in August 2009
---- Won 'Overall Best Swimmer' title five times at National Championships, including twice at the Senior Nationals.
---- The first Indian swimmer to win all three backstroke events.
 
Patel
is soon to be seen in the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa this September and the Asian Age Group Championships to be held in Bangkok this October.
