Indians Ranks 10th for Spending Most on Hotel Rooms Abroad



BANGALORE: Off late the average Indian is finally escaping the tag of being price sensitive when it comes to traveling overseas. A recent study released by Hotels.com. revealed that Indians are amongst the top 10 travelers who spend most on hotels rooms in foreign destinations, reports TOI.  

The global list featured Indians on the tenth place where travelers spend 9,351 on an average for a night at a hotel room abroad including taxes. Travelers from Argentina topped the list who spend an average of 10, 456 per night. Second on the list are the travelers from U.S. with an average spend of 10,330 per night followed by Swiss tourists with 10, 238.

The study also reported the money spend by tourists in their own countries where Swiss took the lead spending an average of Rs 12,088 per night followed by travelers in Singapore.

Indian travelers ranked fourth when it comes to experiencing the best accommodation value with an average payment of 5, 063. 

However, Malaysian and Thai tourists led the list with least spend on domestic travelling with an average payment of Rs 3,645 and Rs 4,502 per night respectively. Russia stood third paying an average of 5,063.

"Of the 32 countries analyzed, 29 nations paid more abroad for travel than at home with some showing a significant gap between the two amounts," said the report.
