Indian Lawmakers Who Are Infamous As Lawbreakers


Bangalore: It is often something to contemplate on, when one comes across a country’s biggies like politicians being a part of lawbreaker. This is because the nation’s wellbeing is incorporated in the hands of the elected leaders. Over a quarter of India’s federal and state legislators face criminal charges that include rape, kidnapping, and fraud, according to the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), which campaigns for better governance. Let us take a sneak peak at the names of those Indian lawmakers whose name appeared as the lawbreakers too.

Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu Prasad Yadav, who ruled Bihar for over a decade was convicted by special CBI judge Pravas Kumar Singh for his involvement in a multi-crore fodder scam. As such, he faced immediate disqualification as a Lok Sabha MP and his political future too is in jeopardy. He has been convicted of corruption, criminal conspiracy and cheating. Lalu was among the 45 people facing charges in the RC 20 A/96 case and had been charged with fraudulent withdrawing of 37.7 crore on fake fodder bills from Chaibasa treasury in the 1990s.
