India Battles Against Cyber Crime

Bangalore: India is facing the threat of being poorly cyber protected. The increasing number of Indians falling victim to cyber crime has finally got the attention of the officials. Nearly 42 Million Indians were scammed online in the past year. The need for trained official to fight this battle against cybercrime is crucial in this age. For this the Indian government will train 5,00,000 trainees to fight the crime effectively, as reported by Vicky Nanjappa for rediff.com

The situation demands for ethical hackers which the government once saw as a taboo but, is now considered necessary. Ethical hackers are the good guys or the white hat guys that hack the system to detect its vulnerabilities and protect the system against illegal entry, misuse, abuse as per dummies.com. However the ethical hackers have complained of not receiving any proper protection for what they do, which they deeply need because they are up against the giants in the crime world.

No doubt that India lacks the necessary tools and supply to track and control the ongoing crime. The government of India has set up ties with the private sectors to assist them in meeting the required goal and get the country cyber safe. The plan to involve the private sector to the cyber crime wing was incorporated in 2001.
