Hudhud Impact: Locals Forced To Buy Milk For 250, Water For 100



BANGALORE: Almost 26 people died, 4 lakh have been evacuated, and 12 districts in Andhra Pradesh are still in darkness. It has been 2 days since after the cyclone Hudhud hit Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, reports rediff.com

The people in these areas are facing rigorous problems such as power woes, shortage of vital elements like milk, water, food and petrol. Taking advantage of the burning situation, some of the traders in these areas are found to practice black marketing and selling these items at some traders were selling the essential items at inflated prices.

Ina dreadful situation where ATMs are not working and petrol pumps are running dry; it is surprised to know that a bottle of water is being sold at 250 and a milk bottle at 100.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited cyclone-battered Visakhapatnam has announced 1, 000-crore package to help the victims and the rehabilitation of the affected areas in Andhra Pradesh to get back on its feet. Relief teams are working continuously to restore essential services.  

Not only this, government is trying to help in every possible manner, reaching out more and more people using Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

Special relief commissioner Pradeepta Mohapatra said, “I have asked the departments concerned and the collectors of the eight districts affected by the cyclone to submit reports on the damage in their areas. We are expecting their reports by October 16 after which the memorandum will be drafted,” reports the Telegraph.
