Celebrating 5 Women Who Redefine The Spirit Of Independence



Bangalore: As India is celebrating 66 years of its independence, women in India have pulled up their socks and are marching forward in the race to be the best by doing a great deal in the society. Today, women are no more confined to family maintenance. They have come out of their homes and have made a prominent mark everywhere.

Below is the list of 5 Indian independent women who have created a milestone in their own decided path, as listed by Zeebiz.com.  

1. Arunima Sinha, High-Altitude Attitude

India’s first woman mountaineer to climb the Everest, Bachendri Pal spoke about the zeal and courage of Arunima Sinha who became the first Indian female-amputee to climb Everest.

According to Pal, the journey of Arunima was very inspiring. After getting inspiration from the first woman mountaineer, Arunima contacted Pal, and the very first thing she said was “I want to climb Mount Everest.” From this statement itself, Pal got to know how determined and passionate Arunima is.

Moreover, Pal on her reply told Arunima that by setting such a goal she had already climbed her first Everest.

Initially when Arunima joined Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF), the team tried to build a motivating, positive and supportive atmosphere for her. First she learnt to walk up and down with the support of the team mate, later she was trained with the load that increased gradually and walk on ice. Altogether, it took close to one year for Arunima to finish her training.

Her positive attitude of converting every problem into an opportunity has bought her to the place where she is.
