Arunachal Not a Part of India Anymore in Text Books in Maharashtra

Bangalore: In a shocking episode the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education have made a serious blunder as the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is missing from the map of India in the state education board's geography textbook for Class X, reported Shreya Bhandary for TNN.

The board's error got published and printed in about 17 lakh copies and this at a time when there is growing tension along the border and strained relations between India and China.

However this is not all as there are a heap of mistakes that have surfaced in the board’s history textbook for Class X. The mistakes include wrong dates given for several historic events, insufficient coverage of important events like World War II and grammatical errors too.

It was claimed that at least on paper the text books were proof-read six times and rigorous process was followed before it got published.
