9 Museums to Visit this December


Indian Museum:

Indian Museum in Calcutta is that oldest and the largest museum in the country, that was founded by the Asiatic Society of Bengal in 1814. The museum is divided into six sections and five galleries, which includes Art, Archaeology, Anthropology, Geology, Zoology and Economic Botany sections. The museum went through a major renovation from 2013 to 2014 now is open for public visit from 10am to 5pm every day.

National Rail Museum, New Delhi:

National Rail Museum in New Delhi is dedicated to heritage of the Indian Railways, which is spread over 10 acres of land in Chanakyapuri region of the city. The museum was inaugurated on 1 February 1977 and exhibits train models namely Patiala State Monorail Trainways, Fairy Queen, Fire Engine, Saloon of Prince of Wales, Saloon of Maharaja of Indore, Saloon of Maharaja of Mysore, Electric locomotive 4502 Sir Leslie Wilson, Electric locomotive Sir Roger Lumley, Cranetank, Kalka Shimla Rail Bus, Matheran Rail Car No 8899, Fireless steam locomotive, Steam Locomotive A -885 HASANG, Steam Locomotive X -37385, MG Diesel SR 203 (Fowler Diesel), Electric Locomotive YCG -E1/21900, Betty Tramways ( Fowler Diesel.)
