8 Women Who Figure in BJP's Revamped National Executive



Aarti Mehra:

A former mayor of the city and eminent BJP leader Aarti was chosen by Amit Shah. Though Arti has been unsuccessful in her political life lately, she was welcome in the party. Her elevation to the national executive could be a big opportunity for her to make a comeback.

Louis Marandi:

The first ever Christian woman to have won the on a BJP ticket in Jharkhand, Marandi emerged as a giant leader by giving a crushing defeat the then Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren by a whopping 5, 262 votes. She won the most prestigious seats, Dumka in Jharkhand. Her elevation to the member of the NE is seen as a move to strengthen the party’s hold in the region.

BJP's National ExecutiveShobha Surendran:

Kerala had never been a BJP’s darling and elevating Shobha to the position of NE member is seen a move to change the scene there. BJP is now eyeing on the 2016 polls. Shobha has been the acting state president of BJP Mahila Morcha.

Anita Arya:

Another Delhite in the list. Delhi’s former Mayor, Anita lost a chance to contest from the Patel Nagar constituency in the recent polls. However her elevation to the NE might give her a better opportunity to actively participate in the mainstream politics in the national capital.

Gauri Choudary:

Gauri is a former vice-president of the Kolkata BJP unit and also one of the oldest members of the party. She has long been the member of the NE and also a close observer of the Mahila Morcha. She is a key member and also one of the very few leaders who can lend a hand to Amit Shah in formulating the scheme of things in West Bengal.
