Fewer agricultural subsidies:

Growth of agriculture is less than expected, rather diminishing, which once offered the highest employment and had the highest share in our GDP. But eventually government’s interest shifted towards modern transport networks, medium and minor irrigation and other rural infrastructure. Which lessened subsidiaries for agriculture and as a result water tables plummeted costly irrigation command areas remained sadly under-utilized and excess of urea damaged soil fertility.

Nationalization of banks:

Forty years ago, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi nationalized banks as a part of the ‘Garibi Hatao’ campaign but most of it remained unsuccessful in eradicating complete poverty. On contrary it paved way for bureaucratic cultures,, all-encompassing inefficiency with a frequent need for budgetary recapitalization.
