Bangalore: It is indeed terrifying to know that there are many noteworthy locations in the world included in the UNESCO World heritage sites that are slowly loosing it natural charms. This is attributed to the threat from development, climate change, warfare and other environmental and human interference.
Let us take a glimpse of 7 such places as compiled by UNESCO.

1. Birthplace of Jesus: Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route, Bethlehem:
The Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route, Bethlehem (Palestine) is the UNESCO inscribed world heritage site situated 10km south of Jerusalem. Since the 2nd century, the place is identified by Christian as the birthplace of Jesus. The site was also placed on the List of World Heritage in Danger as it is suffering from damages due to water leaks and also over the fear of mixing politics and culture. The site also includes Latin, Greek Orthodox, Franciscan and Armenian convents and churches, as well as bell towers, terraced gardens and a pilgrimage route.
